Mössbauer study of some novel iron-bis-glyoxime and iron-tris-glyoxime complexes

Abstract Dioximes as ligands are used analytical reagents and serve models for biological systems well catalysts in chemical processes. A number of novel mixed complexes the type [Fe(DioxH) 2 (amine) ] have been prepared characterised by FTIR, 57 Fe Mössbauer mass spectroscopy us. We found strong Fe–N donor acceptor interactions iron occurred low-spin II state all complexes. Later, we also that incorporation branching alkyl chains (isopropyl) alters bond length results high-spin iron(II) [1, 2]. The question arises: can spin be manipulated generally replacing short with high volume demand ones Fe-azomethine-amine complexes? To answer synthetized iron-bis-glioxime iron-tris-gloxime when long chain or aromatic replaced studied spectroscopy, MS, UV-VIS, TG-DTA-DTG XRD methods. Novel iron-bis-glyoxime iron-tris-glyoxime complexes, [Fe(Diethyl-Diox) 3 (BOH) ], (BOEt) [Fe(phenyl-Me-Diox) were synthesized similarly described [2]. MS measurements indicated expected could successfully synthesized.
